Thankful Thursday 3/10/11

Yesterday I turned 35. I was NOT looking forward to it. But then, I had a great day. My co-workers showered me with food and balloons. My family sang and took care of me all evening. I received well wishes via text and Facebook all day long. My youngest daughter swore I didn't look any older than 34! How lucky am I?

Very. My very smart husband reminded me of an important fact. When I was diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis in January 2000, the average life expectancy after diagnosis was 10 years. Through awareness, research, better medications, the Grace of God, and a little luck, I have beaten those odds. Thirty-five is to be celebrated! I am thankful to be here, living a life full of love.
