Losing my Passion

As I was sitting on my front porch today watching all the neighborhood kids run around, relishing these last few weeks of outdoors time, I found myself being a little jealous of their joy. Their energy. Their passion.

I have had a lot of good things happen this year. I moved into a new position at work. I've been healthy. I've lost weight. Took a great family trip to Disney World. But I seem to have lost my passion for a lot of things I once treasured. Some of those things I can live without, and chalk it up to "people change". But some things I don't WANT to let go...taking photos, scrapbooking, blogging about more than book reviews, my role as family memory-keeper. I dropped Project 365 and only got two months in to my One Little Word project. I have only scrapped through September 2011, and have not yet printed any photos from 2012. What gives?

While I feel a tinge of disappointment, mostly I feel an awakening. A welcoming of possibilities. An excitement to recommit to these things I love. I've enjoyed browsing for some new products that might help me simplify my memory-keeping, like Project Life. I'm gathering up supplies to start prepping my December Daily project. I've ordered last year's pictures for my girls' school albums. I have two meaningful blog posts written and scheduled.

Action feels good.

Project 365: Week 15

Finally back on the bandwagon- I've been in a funk and haven't felt like doing much of anything lately, including reading and taking photos! But now that I've made it through a whole week of P365, I hope to get a little more creative this week!

Sunday- Easter egg hunt at my grandma's. The kids had a great time, and the woods behind her house are lovely this time of year.

Monday- Passed by some repair work on the City Hall tower in Lebanon. NOT something I would like to do!

Tuesday- Cleared off the old coffee table so we could put up the new one. Just waiting on our sofa, and the living room redo is done!

wednesday- Morgan has found a new favorite reading spot- the new storage cubes under the picture window.

Thursday- Heading in to a doctor appointment. I love the style of this building- very Frank Lloyd Wright.

Friday- Nice day for some yard work...always something to be done!

Saturday- 9th birthday party for our friend Jackson. It was held at the Skate Castle in Loveland. Cool place!



Project 365: Week 10

Things were really hectic here this past week- my best friend's husband was in a terrible car accident on Monday and has been in ICU ever since. (Talk about deja vu). My birthday was Friday. Everyone in my house got sick this week. I had to work late a few days. Needless to say, our routine was off a little. I only managed to take a pic a few days, so here they are...

Sunday- Dancing with the Wii

Monday- Dance practice- Viv is in the middle with the black leotard

Wednesday- Courtyard at University Hospital, visiting my friend who's husband is in ICU

Friday- One kid sick at home, one at the bus stop

Saturday- My best friend today!

Project 365: Week 9

Sunday- got a little scrapping done!



Monday- Viv has been battling a cough on and off for a couple of weeks. She hated the all-natural stuff!



Tuesday- a coworker brought in treats today!



Wednesday- waiting in line at the grocery store





Thursday- decorating our office door at work





Friday- Girls watching out the front door for the arrival of the big tornado-producing storms. Thankfully, it didn't get too bad here.



Saturday- Morgan and her cheer coach, at the awards ceremony.



Project 365: Week 8

Sunday- sign on the playroom door- the girls were making a "movie" and didn't want to be disturbed!

Monday- took the girls to see Arietty- this is the promo for Hunger Games- can't wait for it to come out!

Tuesday- played games at cheerleading practice today, just for fun.

Wednesday- we've had unseasonably warm weather this winter, so some of my plant are a little confused!

Thursday- time for a new pair of dance shoes- can't beleive she's been taking lessons for over a year now!

Friday- took this photo at work, although it does not do the strange weather justice- sunny, then a downpour, then 5 minutes of extreme wind and hail.

Saturday- Y-E-L-L Everybody yell!

Project 365: Week 7

Pretty standard week around here. I tried avoiding my usual pics (dance, cheerleading...) and kept perspective in mind. I think I did a fairly good job of adding some photos taken from different angles and distances, rather than all font-on shots.

Sunday- Finally getting around to doing our taxes. There's one task to cross off my February to-do list!

Monday- Can't start the week (or even day) without a cuppa!

Tuesday- You can't spell HEART without ART- the art teacher at school does face painting every Valentine's Day.

Wednesday- The 7am moon.

Thursday- M is ready for rain today.

Friday- This is my Meniett device, which I use 3 times a day to treat Meniere's Disease.

Saturday- Beautiful day for a walk in the park.

Project 365:Week 6

Sorry for the quality of photos this week- I am relying a lot on my phone to take candid photos, and they just don't turn out very well sometimes!

Sunday- Making Valentines for their class

Monday- Painting nails at cheer practice, just for fun

Tuesday- Lots of errands today- kids just acting silly in the backseat of the car

Wednesday- I really hate grocery shopping, but there is something very satisfying about having a stocked fridge and pantry!

Thursday- Daddy and daughter video game time

Friday- artwork from school- this is a stylized owl

Saturday- my kids have been desperate to play in the snow, but the weather hasn't cooperated- they decided to make the most of the inch or so we got today

Project 365: Week 5

We had a gorgeous, sunny, warm week here in SW Ohio.

Sunday- Birthday party for my niece. Such a fun time!

Monday- Getting a little addicted to these things.

Tuesday- Facebook- Have you switched to Timeline yet?

Wednesday- Gorgeous clouds in a blue sky! Sunroof open today.

Thursday- Spa time for Barbie.

Friday- Quite the commedian. "Is this thing on?" "Orange you glad I didn't say banana?" "Hello, hello?"

Saturday- Got lots of good pics today at cheerleading!



Project 365: Week 4

Pretty much our usual routine around here.

Errands, work, school...

Sunday- Reading time before bed

Monday- Justin cooking pancakes and bacon for dinner

Tuesday- chores!

Wednesday- watched my niece for a couple of hours

Thursday- stuck at a railroad crossing- I think some of the grafitti is kinda cool

Friday- picked up some books I had reserved at the library- this statue sits out front

Saturday- went to a birthday party for Vivian's school friend
