Happy Hip Hop Hangover!

Geez, I have been a bad blogger this week! Hope these projects make up for it! The first project is an altered DVD case. It began as one of those free tax software Cd's that come in the mail. It was an aweful green color, so I removed the cover, sanded it down, and painted the edges pink. I covered it with scraps and used the Belly journaling block for the title. I plan on adding a CD of baby shower pictures for my sister-in-law!

The next project is a Jr. legal pad cover that uses some fun paper by DCWV called "Once Upon a Time". I used stamps from the Quote Bundle Pack and Birdie Inspirations.

Happy Friday, I hope you all have a fun and creative weekend!

Mojo Monday week 86

Ok, so this is a little late... but I am really happy with how it turned out! The card was inspired by the cake seen here, for a VSN challenge. The Verve "Beautiful Kindness" swirl stamps were inked in VersaMark and embossed with white EP. The sentiment, from the same set, was stamped in Soft Sky. The pearl detail reflects the beading of icing around the cake layers. Thanks for looking, and I hope you're having a great weekend!

Look What I Won!

Check out the awesome Unity stamps I won from their DT member, Laura Williams! Everyone was giving out great blog candy during Unity's anniversary week, and I was one lucky winner. Laura sent such a generous assortment! Thanks! Everyone should check out her cool blog, http://www.lauralooloo.blogspot.com/. Have a great weekend, and look for projects using these stamps (oh, and the vast amount I've actually purchased recently!) soon.

A Quick Sketch Card

This card was made using the SCS sketch challenge 222. The cute Pink Cat Studios image was RAK'd to me by my friend Emily! I colored him using watercolor pencils and my blender pen. The Tiny Mosaic embossing folder and CM circle punches pulled it together quickly!

VSN

Here are a couple of cards I made during this past weekend's Virtual Stamp Night at SCS. The first card uses the spotlighting technique. Just some scraps, a stamp by Whispers, chalking, and watercolor pencils. The second card was to use only red, black and white. The stamps are from Unity's This is the Time set. I also used the Distressed Stripes embossing folder and some $1 bin ribbon.

Meet Sarah!

Here is my sweet niece, Sarah Ann, born at 11:08am today! She is my brother and sister-in-law's second daughter. Needless to say, Aunt Bekah thinks she is so precious and beautiful. I'm sure you will all be seeing some scrapbook pages featuring her very soon!

Dustin Pike Digi Stamp

This cute little guy is by digi designer Dustin Pike. I colored him with Prismas and gamsol, and kept the layout pretty simple. Perfect for my one-year old nephew, don't you think?

You can check out Dustin's work and look for freebies here.

Embossing with Pearl-Ex

I have been wanting to try embossing with Pearl-Ex, so this weekend I printed out the tutorial from SCS (Love those!) as well as the one for a 2-5-7-10 box, and got to work! First I scored the cardstock according to directions and stamped Baroque Motifs in VersaMark. The square panel and focal medallion use the embossing technique- stamp in VersaMark and emboss with clear EP. While it is still warm, rub Pearl-Ex over it and heat again. Wipe off the excess, and you're done! What do you think?

Clean and Simple baby card

This sketch was taken from the CAS13 challenge at SCS. I made it even more simple, if possible, and used a pre-embossed card base by DCWV. I chalked the edges, punched some circles from scraps, added a few embellies, and DONE! Love cards like this! This is for my friend and co-worker Molly, who just found out she is expecting.

Blog candy alert!

My good friend Emily, aka Stampingout on SCS, has some uber cool blog candy she is giving away this week. Just visit her blog here for the deets! She is a DT member for the Digi Shack and always has great projects on her blog. Not only that, she is super sweet in real life. So pop over and give her some love, and tell her Bekah sent you!

Hip Hop Hangover, simple style

Here is a simple card I made using the Unity April KOM and Distressed Dots.
The background is stamped with VersaMark, and the girls are stamped in Chocolate Chip.
Brown and red is one of my favorite color combos, and I just love the extra splash
of color the dollar bin ribbon throws in there!
Have a great weekend!

Hip Hop Thursday!

It's time for another Hip Hop Thursday challenge! This week's challenge was...to do a challenge! I chose to use SC227 and Unity's April KOM for this card. It was an experiment, that's for sure! I used VersaMark and Pearl-Ex on the background (SU French Script), and also used Pearl-Ex on top of Prisma pencils on the dress form. It all smuged a bit, but I think I will try this again!

Mojo Monday week 85

It's a card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I chose Verve's Floral Symphony set to go with this sentiment from Studio G. The paper is all scraps, and I used Staz On Black and Blue Bayou inks. The sentiment is punched out with the scalloped square from Marvy. I added a ribbon and flowers from the dollar bin. If you can't see it, the larger background DP says "baby" all over it-- this card is for my coworker who just found out she is pregnant!

Mojo Monday Week 84

I made this card using the Mojo Week 84 sketch. It is my first time using an image from the Digi Shack! This was a FREE image, people! How cute! I used prisma pencils and mineral spirits to color it in. The paper is all scraps. Other items used were 1/16" and 1/8" hole punches, SU slit punch, and misc, ribbon, button and thread. Thanks for looking!

Hip Hop Hangover!

Can't get enough Unity?? Here is a single layer card I made for their Thursday anniversary challenge. The stamp is from their "Scrapbook from the Beginning" set, which I just love! It is stamped in Staz-On Black onto good old kraft paper. The flowers are from Colorbok, so the whole thing came together so fast! A bit of black ribbon (taken from the Clean & Simple Challenge #12) and a computer generated sentiment finished it off, perfect for my sister in law, who is graduating with her Master's degree!
