Raising Bookworms- A Layout

I am a self-pronounced Book Nerd. Book Geek. Book Worm.
Whatever you call it, I have always loved to read!
Seems like I'm passing that on to my girls...

Don't you just love their matching Princess Snuggies?!

Here I colored in white alphas with SU ink and a paintbrush. Love being able to customize things!

I think all the gloomy and rainy days have me going a little overboard on the sunny yellows on my scrapbook pages!

Paper- Scenic Route, Bella Blvd., Bazzill
Glimmer Mist- Sweet Clover, Lily Pad, Coffee Shop
Alpha stickers- Bella Blvd.
Flowers- Prima
Provo Craft dec scissors
CM Custom Cutting System

Thankful Thursday 4/21/11

I love my job. I love working with kiddos with disabilities, especially those with autism. I love helping the parents feel more comfortable with how they interact with their kids. I love working with professionals from lots of different disciplines.

But sometimes my job is really tough.  I am a mandatory reporter for suspected abuse or neglect, and last week, for the first time in my 15 years in this field, I had to make a call to Children's Services.

The thankful part? In this case, the system seems to be working. The parents are following through with all the caseworker's recommendations and continuing to allow me into their home to support them. The house is safer, the kids healthier.

My job may not always be easy,  but every once in a while, I make a big difference.

Share your gratitudes with The Bug.

Thankful Thursday 4/7/11

I really enjoy taking time every week to acknowledge my blessings, big and small. This week includes:

  • Everyone at my house is finally healthy. We had quite the sickly Spring Break!
  • Today the sun was shining and I saw blue skies! Finally!
  • I make a kick-ass homemade version of chilled coffee. Half and half coffee and milk, plus a lot of sugar. Shake well. Yummo.
  •  Tomorrow starts Girls Weekend! Two and a half days with my closest friends in the world. Can't wait!
