I am joining you from Middletown, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati.

I am really enjoying this meme. It has encouranged me to seek out things I see everyday and really explore them. This week I am showing you the mural artwork of Eric Henn, an artist from my town. He has several large-scale murals here in Middletown, as well as in neighboring cities. The art in Middletown focuses largely on our history as a port on the Miami-Erie canal. Visit his website here to see more of his commercial work, including tanks, towers, zoos and aquariums all over the country.

Enjoy your week!

  1. Thanks for the tour. He is a very gifted artist. The one of the arch is so realistic that I had to look at it twice.

  6. My in-laws took a tour of these murals last year on Riverboat cruise and raved. I'm not sure if these are the same ones, but they are so cool!

I feel exactly the same way about Sundays In My City...I'm exploring my hometown all over again. It's really cool.

  10. I love this post. I particularly like the second mural. You've reminded me that I want to do a post on murals that are here. It's amazing, but ever since I've started doing SIMC I notice things that I've taken for granted. I could share pictures of my city for the rest of my life and never run out of material.
