Weekend Layouts

Here are a couple of layouts I completed for the Coordinates Collections Magic March Cyber Crop. I had a lot of fun and even won a prize!
The first layout was for a challenge where we had to use at least 3 pieces of "bling". For this photo of my niece I chose shiny paper from My Mind's Eye, glittered chipboard letters from Oriental Trading Co., and rhinestones in the flower centers. The flowers themselves are by Colorbok, a steal at Michael's for only $1!

The second layout encorporates several colors, per the challenge. It shows pictures of one of my favorite days of the year, the first day we get to go outside and really play! The background paper is by We R Memory Keepers, and the green paper is from Making Memories "Chloe's Closet" line. The chipboard buttons are from Colorbok (again, $1 at Michael's!); pin is Making Memories; flocked words are K & Co. It came together really easily, and I love all the fresh spring colors.

Mojo Monday week 79

Good morning! Here is the card I completed for the Mojo Monday sketch this week. I had to use some new Verve stamps! The blue dotted paper is from Making Memories Chloe's Closet collection, which matched really well with Blue Bayou. The butterflies (Beautiful Kindness) were stamped on vellum with Blue Bayou and cut out. The sentiment is from Circular Sayings. I distressed some of the edges and finished it off with a sheer yellow ribbon. Thanks for looking!

March Madness Challenge

Join us for the March Madness challenge over at SplitcoastStampers! It is a fun way to challenge yourself to try new things and reach your scraping goal for the month. Baiscally, you can earn points and move up in the "bracket" for different things on your layouts. For example, a double page spread is worth 9 points. If you stamp on the layout, add 1 point. If you use a SCS challenge, add 6 more points. Clear as mud? Check out the details here. Here is a quick layout I did to kick off the challenge.

Easter goodies!

Here is a little Easter treat bag topper I made for my daughters and nieces. I started with some peachy-colored cardstock, cut with my Top Note die and folded in half. The bunny stamp is from Oriental Trading Co. The bunny and sentiment (SU's One of a Kind) are stamped in Chocolate Chip. The flowers are stamped in Pumpkin Pie. I used the CM custom cutting system and Nesties to cut the circles, with $1 bin ribbon behind them. All paper edges were sponged with either Chocolate Chip or Pumpkin Pie ink. To finish off the project, I added orange rhinestones from Studio 18 in the flower centers. Thanks for looking!

New Verve Stamps!

I was so excited to get my new Verve stamps in the mail. I made a quick card for a sorority sister's new baby using "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", inked with Staz On Jet Black. All paper is from Creative Memories, as well as the funky little star punch. The white circle and panel are sponge inked with So Saffron. Stay tuned later this week for more creations using new releases from Verve!

Hello blogging world!

I am finally blogging! Please be patient while I learn all the tricks! For my first post, I am showing a card I made for my husband's birthday. I used a Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tillman's blog. Check out the challenge at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/. The background and green paper are from Colorbok's Friendly Forest collection. Look closely...the owl is just paper, too! I used Distressed Dots from Unity Stamp Co. on the narrow panel. The sentiment is from Gina K's "Owl Always Love You" set, with the inside reading, "Hope it's a Hoot"! I added the ribbon (from JoAnn's), Chocolate Chip ink around the edges, and piercing to finish it off. Thanks for looking!
