Project 365: Week 30

Most of this past week is just not worth mentioning, much less photographing. It was rough, medically speaking. So let's just stick with Saturday, the only "keeper", and hope for better stuff all the way around this coming week!

Great day swimming with my college girlfriends and our families!

Scrappin' Silhouettes #22- A Makeover!

My girlfriends from college and I get together twice a year for Girls' Weekend. In April of this year our time together included a trip to the mall for shopping and a makeover at Bare Minerals! I used Scrappin' Silhouettes #22 for my layout of Victoria getting gorgeous!

Most products are from Creative Memories.

Here is the sketch. To play along, create a layout based on this silhouette, then upload to the Scrappin' Silhouettes blog. Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch to fit your needs!

Project 365: Week 36

Sunday- We went to the waterpark and ran into my coworker and her adorable daughter!
Monday- Apparently, driving straight into the cornfield isn't an option. Bummer.
Tuesday- Lovely downtown Lebanon, Ohio.
Wednesday- Summer colds stink. This one's a doozy.
Thursday- School open house. Check out the shirt!

Friday- Crazy painted car I passed on the way home from work.

Saturday- We went to a birthday party for a 5 year old girl. Morgan's favorite part? "My boobs are coconuts! This is awesome!"

Splashing Good Time- a Layout

I am finally getting to scrap a few of the hundreds of water pictures I took over the summer.
These were taken at a coworker's house. My oldest daughter (age 7) has a crush on
said coworker's boyfriend! She was delighted to go swimming with her handsome guy.

Papers, chipboard pieces, and title box all from Scrap-Tastic July kit.
Electric Blue Glimmer Mist- perfect for water pages!

Rescued By a Friend! A Story and a Layout

A month or so ago, I was stuck at the car dealership while they worked on my car. I had already been there for four hours when they told me they needed to keep it overnight. At this point I was tired, grumpy and starving! I knew it was Jeni's day off, so I called her. She dropped everything, rescued me, and took me out to lunch at Mimi's! She probably doesn't even realize how much that day meant to me. Jeni is definitely one of those always-there-when-you-need-her kinda friends. Knowing her and the type of person she is makes me want to be a better friend, too.

About the layout:
Prima paper from Scrap-Tastic July kit
Felt flowers by American Crafts
CM circle punch
Lots of scraps!
Glimmer Mist in Old Lace

I would love to hear about a special friend, a quality you admire in a friend, or a time when you were rescued by a friend!

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

Well, I am ready to go, but the packing bit isn't quite true. I am going away for my bi-annual girls' weekend tomorrow. (Huge sigh of relief and contentment).  Three of my besties from college and I get together twice a year to celebrate women, good food, good drink, and our enduring friendships. I return to my family and my job feeling bouyed and refreshed. More positive about life in general. To help you start planning for your own girls' getaway, here are a list of my must-haves. Ready? Set...PACK!

  • camera (duh)
  • bottle (or two or three) of wine (don't forget the bottle opener!)
  • Tylenol (see above)
  • swimsuit, cover-up and flip-flops (hotel hot-tubbing, anyone?)
  • hummus and Trader Joe's Pita Chips
  • something cute to wear (we usually go out one evening)
  • comfy shoes (we always go shopping!)
  • excitement, love and laughter (all 100% guaranteed)
I'd love to hear about traditions you have with your friends, or your own must-have list for a girly get-together! Pictures will follow soon!
