Project 365: Days 73-79

It's time for another peek into my life...

Day 73
Rows and rows of fabric at Hobby Lobby- I could spend hours there! This was taken for Photo Challenge 71 at SplitcoastStampers.

Day 74

Day 75
Both my girls still loving the horse at Meijer. It's a great reward for good behavior at only a penny!

Day 76
My work planner, also known as my "Bible". March has been a busy month, but see those X'd off days at the end of the month?  Vacation, baby!

Day 77
Just a pretty old church building (for sale!) that I pass sometimes during my work travels. It was a beautiful day and I'm glad I spent a few minutes to unwind here.

Day 78
My daughters and Ms. Erica, babysitter and lifesaver. She is such a huge part of our life and a wonderful partner in raising our children. Little D just had to get in the picture, too!

Day 79
My niece Jetta, at her 10th birthday party. She got a long strip of money as a gift.

Happy Birthday to my Hubs!

Yep, today is Justin's birthday. Here is the card I made for him:
I used SC270  from SplitCoastStampers for the layout. I chose a monochromatic scheme from my scraps pile, mainly because I have trouble picking out colors for guy cards! After edging each panel in white I lighly sponged Soft Sky on the image panel. The main image and sentiment, both from Unity, are stamped in Staz On Black. I rounded one corner of the card base and image panel for interest. A little black ribbon to tie it all together, and done! This came together nice and quickly.

Be sure to stop by on Thursday for a new scrapbook page using images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff: Blast Off!

There is a great sale going on at LSS this week!

This week's card has a bit of a story. I work with children with disabilities, as many of you know. I am not supposed to have favorites, but a very special guy is turning three next week and "graduating" from my program. He has made tremendous progress since I met him two years ago, and his parents are very sweet and dedicated. I will miss them all! So this card is to celebrate my buddy, who is "blasting off" into the world of preschool!

Supply list:
paper: black and gray cs; silver embossed paper (unk)
coloring medium: Bic Mark-its; silver metallic pen (CM)
other: Rock Candy Distress Stickles (Ranger); star embellishment (unk)

Visit Lindsay's blog for a St. Patrick's Day freebie!

The Random Dozen 3/10

Click on the button to join Linda at 2nd Cup of Coffee for her weekly "Random Dozen" meme!

1. How old is the oldest pair of shoes in your closet?
Probably only about 2 years old. The reason is gross, so of course I’ll share- my feet sweat a lot and my shoes start to smell and I throw them out and buy new ones. So there.

2. Did you buy Girl Scout cookies this year? If so, what variety?
Yes, duh! Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, and Lemonades. I ate most of them myself.

3. Do you know how to ballroom dance? If not, would you like to?
I do not know how but I have always wanted to! Maybe for my 10th Anniversary later this year??

4. Were you a responsible child/teenager?
Ah, this one gets and bit tricky and involves a bit of confession. Yes, I was responsible. I was in lots of clubs, always got straight A’s, and helped take care of my younger siblings when my mom’s rheumatoid arthritis got too bad. On the other hand, I did sneak out of the house a few times and tried my hand with drinking and cigarettes.

5. How many of this year's Oscar-nominated movies did you see?
I’m going to say none. We rarely go to the movies. However, there are some I am anxious to rent some night when hubs is gone and won’t criticize my taste. He’s a movie snob!

6. If you're going to have a medical procedure done, such as having blood drawn, is it easier for you to watch someone else having the procedure done or have it done yourself?
Listen, people. I have had soooo many medical procedures done that I don’t even blink and eye when something new is done to me! But it is completely awful to see my kids get a shot or blood drawn.

7. What is your favorite day of the week and why?
So cliché, but I love Friday. The anticipation of the weekend, having two whole days spread out before you…I love it! Saturdays are always busy and Sunday is just the day before Monday…sigh.

8. Do you miss anyone right now?
My mom. She passed away when I was in college, and man, what I wouldn’t give to share my parenthood insecurities and marriage questions with her.

9. Do hospitals make you queasy?
Nope. See #6.

10. At which store would you like to max-out your credit card. Not that you ever would, you responsible person, you.
I can do some major damage at craft stores! Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s…any of them suck me in!

11. Are you true to the brand names of products/items?
For the most part, no. There are two things, however, that I refuse to buy generic: toilet paper and toothpaste!

12. Which is more difficult: looking into someone’s eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someone’s eyes when he/she is telling you how he/she feels?
I don’t have a good answer for this one. Truth-telling can be a scary and difficult thing. I guess if someone is speaking to me about something important, I try to look into their eyes so I can read them better.
